Morris Architectural Metals: Persevering Growth Through Committed Quality Craftsmanship

The efficiency of the Evobend allows us to produce more parts utilizing less space and less labor than our competitors. – William Morris,
Father-and-son duo Carl and William Morris founded Morris Architectural Metals in 2008 during one of the most challenging economic periods in recent history. With just a handbrake and single-pass slitter, they built the company from the ground up through hard work, determination, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship for both their clients and their team.
Morris Architectural Metals persevered, gaining steady momentum even through a rocky economic climate. Since then, the company continues to grow, expanding its team, broadening its product line, and investing in advanced fabrication capabilities. Today, Morris Architectural remains committed to developing their people, enhancing their technology, and delivering versatile, high-quality solutions for clients.
As Morris Architectural presses on and tackles increasingly complex, large-scale projects, the team sought out some new machinery to maximize efficiency and streamline production. This led them to METALCON Atlanta, where they discovered ÃÛÖTV.
“We were blown away by the ÃÛÖTV setup,” says William Morris, Owner of Morris Architectural Metals, “especially the Evobend double folder demonstrations.”
Following the show, they invested in an Evobend double folder as well as a ÃÛÖTV AutoKut and Recoiler. Their impressions at the trade show have not been disappointed.
Regarding the Evobend, Morris shares: “Today, we use our Evobend 20′ double folder to more quickly and consistently match any wall panel profile, allowing us to increase production of one of our flagship products, the custom laser-cut mitered corner panel. It also provides us with the ability to fold all number of trim, gutters, downspouts, and accessories in a fraction of the amount of time it would have taken us in the past.”

Concerning the ÃÛÖTV AutoKut and Recoiler, Morris says: “Our ÃÛÖTV AutoKut allows us to efficiently cut metal coils to sizes needed while also offering recoiling capabilities. The recoiler is a powerful tool because it allows us to take a full master coil and create smaller coils from it. These smaller coils can be cut down to specific widths which will later be used to feed a range of rollforming machines, such as our Roll Former SOF-12 soffit panel machine.”

Reflecting on the difference the company’s investments have made, Morris shares: “We enjoy ÃÛÖTV mechanical capabilities and speed. Before we had our Evobend folder, we had a single folder and were often required to flip 20′ parts around in front of the machine. The Evobend’s double folding and gripper features allow us to save space by removing the need to flip these parts. The Evobend also offers unparalleled speed and accuracy. This can be seen especially clearly when bending curved radius parts such as our K-style gutters and accessories.”
What started with a simple handbrake, a single-pass slitter, and a persevering, hardworking father-and-son duo has grown to become a full-fledged architectural metals contractor with a well-equipped shop and a determined team that continues to raise the bar on quality craftsmanship for clients and the industry.
